The Ravenel Bridge, also known as the New Cooper River Bridge, is a cable-stayed bridge over the Cooper River in South Carolina, connecting Charleston to Mount Pleasant. The first bridge to cross the Cooper River was built in 1929 and was replaced with the Ravenel Bridge in 2005. The first Cooper River Bridge Run occurred in 1978 and is a world-class 10K run that is considered to be one of the largest running event in the world!
